Paws down, this was one for the memory books! We were absolutely thrilled to be part of the Ethically Made in Australia Pop-Up, hosted by the incredible team at Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA). It wasn’t just an event—it was a celebration of values, creativity, and connection. Imagine a space where every product tells a story, every maker shares a mission, and every visitor leaves inspired. That’s exactly what we experienced.
Popping Up at the Ethically Made in Australia Event with Purpose (and a Little Tail Wagging)

From the moment we arrived, the energy was electric. Apawrel products were displayed with pride, showcasing our ethically made dog clothing and accessories. Each piece crafted with love, sustainability, and a dash of dog-inspired flair. Seeing our creations in a space dedicated to ethical fashion was more than exciting, it was paw-sitively thrilling.
Meet the Maker: Sharing Our Story, One Wag at a Time

The Meet the Maker session was exciting and a little scary, just like when we find a new hiking trail to tackle. Yet it was a wonderful opportunity to share our journey. We got to yarn about choosing repurposed materials to designing for comfort, play, and style. We even talked about how dog butts inspire our brand colours (yes, really!). But more than that, we shared what it means to be ECA-accredited and why ethical manufacturing matters, not just for humans, but for our furry friends too.
The conversations were warm, genuine, and full of curiosity. It was as heartwarming as a dog cuddling up on a chilly day being surrounded by people who genuinely care about supporting local artisans and ethical production. And want to know how we make our products, why we choose sustainable paths, and what drives our passion. It felt like we were part of a bigger movement, one that values transparency, care, and creativity.
A Community of Makers with Heart
We were surrounded by an inspiring pack of fellow makers, each bringing their own unique vision to life:
Each brand brought something special, but what united us was a shared commitment to ethical, Australian-made fashion. We swapped stories, shared laughs, and cheered each other on. It felt like being part of a creative, conscious family.
Why Ethical Clothing Australia Matters

ECA is more than an accreditation body, it’s a movement. They ensure that Australian textile, clothing, and footwear workers are treated fairly, and that supply chains are transparent, ethical and legally compliant. Their work supports:
Fair wages and safe working conditions
Local manufacturing
Ethical business practices
Transparency in fashion supply chains
When you see the ECA trademark, you know the product was made with integrity. Learn more at ethicalclothingaustralia.org.au.
Gratitude and Looking Ahead
To the team at Ethical Clothing Australia, thank you for creating such a meaningful event. To our fellow makers, thank you for your passion and creativity. And to every visitor who stopped by, asked questions, and supported local, thank you for being part of this journey.
We left the event with full hearts, wagging tails, and a renewed sense of purpose. Here’s to more moments like this, where fashion meets values and community leads the way.
